In this edition of “Spontaneity”, we’ve rounded up some Halloween events from across the state that are sure to give you frightful thrills or eerie chills and everything in between. Not a fan of the spooky stuff? Not a problem! We’ve got something in here for everyone.

Seacoast:

Ghosts on the Banke
October 24-27

Step into Halloween magic as you trick-or-treat outdoors from house to historic house, guided by the glow of carved pumpkins, candle boxes, and string lights in Portsmouth’s oldest waterfront neighborhood. Meet wayward pirates and a mysterious fortune-teller, listen to ghostly tales echoing through the night, and warm up by the All Hallows Bonfire. Create giant spider webs, dance to haunting tunes and play games for prizes. Dare to knock on the witch’s door and ask for a treat—if you’re brave enough!

Beyond the Veil- Halloween Event

Step into the realm of the supernatural with the North Shore Medium! There will be a live mediumship demonstration, along with light appetizers and a cash bar. This event is for ages 18+.

“Dracula” at the Strand

Presented by Break a Leg Legally, “Dracula” takes you on a thrilling theatrical journey that’s suitable for all ages. Follow Lucy Seward’s mysterious illness and the chilling hunt for Count Dracula, a vampire whose story unfolds in a unique and captivating manner.

Laurie Berkner: Halloween Concert

Playing all your favorites (plus some Halloween songs!) your family will have a blast at this Laurie Berkner solo show! Laurie has released fifteen bestselling, award-winning albums, authored three picture books for Simon & Schuster, written music and lyrics for three off-Broadway children’s musicals, and wrote and produced a 10-chapter audio series for kids. These days, critics widely acknowledge Laurie’s major contribution toward launching, what is now dubbed, the progressive “kindie rock” movement.

Join us for a wondrous afternoon that will surely provide memories lasting for the rest of your life. Experience the sights and visuals of Spookville for yourself as you explore this haunt at no cost. However, feel free to pay-it-forward with a “bone-ation” to support the SCARE Costume Charity and sharing the magic that only Halloween can bring.

Have a fiendishly good time on the Halloween Masquerade Ball, the final cruise of the season. This annual tradition is also the grand finale of the season, featuring a three-hour cruise, buffet dinner, entertainment, seasonal snacks and beverages and the wildest costume contest in the Lakes Region. Please note that all passengers attending this event must be 21 years of age or older.
